Singapore vaccinates 80 percent of population against COVID-19

Singapore’s COVID infection rate has been the highest during the entire pandemic as there is currently a third community case wave. Here is some context as to what case Numbers Singapore was used to in the past.

1st Wave: March - October 2020 Cases peaked at ~60 cases during the first lockdown Very Low case period: November - April 2020 0 or single digit cases for many days 2nd Wave: May - July 2020 (known as the Tan Tock Seng / Changi Airport / Bukit Merah Clusters) cases peaked at 38 in one day before going to single digits in mid-July 3rd Wave: July 2020 - present (known as the KTV / Jurong Fishery Port / Bugis Junction Clusters) cases peaked at 180+, the highest during the entire pandemic. Vaccination does not prevent transmission, only prevents severe cases and deaths.
