When we moved here, traveling around the state.. seeing the "Nothing Fancy Cafe" billboard while going down the freeway made me cringe more so. I just could not believe a restaurant paid for advertising to brag about how they are nothing special. SO why should anyone stop?! ugh. Let's go on a tanget.. First of all the word "fancy" is always being used in this passive aggressive humblebrag as in this "We're not that fancy" twang that saturates this State's daily colloquialisms that makes me cringe. But now you have people advertising that they have less than average food and are proud of it? Yeah. It's amazing how incomplete the thought process is being in the throes of this oppositional state of being "humble which makes us better than you." I want to throttle some that say it in the context of this humblebrag, wrenching their tiny heads around so they can see the reflection of what they are trying to scorn is the same mainstay of snobbery with just a different voice. Sorry. Please continue. I'll never be over it. heh.
