Soldier (63% usage); McCree (1% usage)

In season 1, MasterOverwatch said I was top 1%, season 2, top 7%, skipped 3, played 4, also Diamond in s4 but iirc that was top 20%? As more and more people stop playing the game, it becomes a lot harder to be in a higher % because the large masses have moved on to other games.

I see Master players in my games at times, mostly Diamond, and in competitive no one touches Widow. I see Hanzo, but never widow. In quickplay I've (almost) never seen a widow make a difference. There have been less than 5 widows that I've encountered that never missed headshots. They were all low ranked smurfs/hackers. Brand new account type stuff, or someone that is ranked silver every season but for some reason is paired w/ ppl in master+.

Why? Her kit just sucks and her primary snipe is hard to effectively use without a team built around her. Tons of heroes hardcounter her as well. A silver genji or winston will ruin the day of a master widow.

Lets compare widow to Hanzo. For primary fire, Widow is a little better at long range picks. Hitscan shots w/ 2.5 HS multiplier help her w/ this. At this long range though, Hanzo is still "okay." Large hitbox arrows can still get picks at long range. So, 1) Widow is a little better at range.

But, at all other ranges, Hanzo's arrow will be easier to deploy. It is near impossible to pick up a close range Tracer w/ a widow snipe because of Widow's zoom, but as Hanzo is is pretty easy to kill Tracer at close range. Hanzo's primary attack is actually better 90% of the time.

Widow has no close range ability. Her regular rate of fire is 130dps w/ not damage drop off, which seems good, butt he spread is so high that is is effectively useless on people unless they're a large tank or low on hp.

But what about Widow's ult? It is pretty useless. It really only helps Widow pick off headshots on unsuspecting people coming around corners. This isn't counter strike. We usually know where people are. Hanzo's sonic arrow is infinitely more useful. So low cooldown and you can locate people on objectives (it is an objective based game...).

Hanzo also gets scatter arrow... which is amazing at oneshotting squishies and hitting tanks hard. Up to 450 dmg iirc.

Hanzo also actually has an ult - and it is extremely effective on objectives and paired w/ Zarya.

So, overall, it really makes no sense to ever touch Widow. Hanzo brings so much more to the team w/ the only drawback being slightly less effective at the longest ranges.

What could we do to Widow to make her viable? Honestly, just reduce the CD on her grapple, and make her secondary fire actually useful (reduce the spread) and she would instantly because, at least, viable. Even leave her secondary at 130 dps (which is low) but w/ no drop off, 130 dmg at range is amazing - s76 only does 50 at range! She could be a middle to long range designated marksman style hero and still be useful when she isn't sniping. That way her snipe could be left fairly nerfed, as it is, but picking her isn't a liability to your team.

Currently, even if you get a pick w/ Widow and make it a 5v6, it is still essentially a 5v5, because widow is that useless. You gotta pick of 2 to make your widow selection worthwhile and the enemy team needs to really goof to let you get 2 picks.
