Some memerable transphobic events in your life?

  1. Having a whole sermon delivered at me with hostility and aggression from a pastor in a packed church. And subsequent outcasting from the wider church community

  2. Having my qualification and training records "accidentally lost" and being pushed out of a surf lifesaving club.

  3. Being pushed out of 3 different martial arts clubs and ostracized from the wider local martial arts community.

  4. Random death threat.

  5. Being denied medical care that is supposed to be made available. Having endocrinologist referrals turned down because of being transgender, despite having what they later admitted was an endocrine disorder.

  6. Emailing a counselling services provider for victims of rape and sexual assault. After being seriously sexually assaulted. Being told in my email I could access counselling, it would be free and confidential, I didn't need to report it if I didn't want to, and to come into their offices to discuss what services they could provide. Going into the office and being told that there was a waiting list to see counselors. A waiting list that wasn't mentioned when I emailed them, when it wasn't obvious I was transgender.
