Probably no one will read this as I've only caught up with the games just now. But in game 2 the comp that KT ran is actually quite tricky to beat. Coincided with the fact that as Monte correctly pointed out SKT ran a low damage comp there was no real way SKT were going to win without a substantial lead going into the mid to late game.If we were reading SKT's comp like a book it was telling us that they just wanted to survive and sustain through team fights and nothing more.
The comp that KT ran is very similar to the one that Elements ran in their first game against SK and also similar to something they ran against SKT in their previous best of 3 series game. There are soo many waves of devastating CC that there simply aren't enough counters to it until after the mid game where most people will have a QSS,mikaels,Zhonyas. Beating that comp is very item dependent which is rare in the game right now.
Monte pointed out that Bang buying an early QSS was a great pick up. I'd argue that it wasn't. This is exactly what KT wanted him to do getting SKT's main damage source to delay his ramp up in damage even more to secure a defensive item as his second item. That's exactly what they wanted because now killing them in these sustained team fights would take even longer.That's exactly what the comp's psychological effect on the enemy team is supposed to do force them into early defensive buy's thereby delaying their power spikes even more.
But let's get real here one measly QSS wasn't going to stop all of KT's initiation onto Graves. Even if he cleansed lissandra ult, there was a leona ult, rumble ult and vi ult to somehow dodge as well.We noticed they caught nagne a few times in the game but he and his team were able to turn those unfavourable team fights into their own fortune due to the lack of damage on SKT's team.
There were two choices to pick here which are predicated on their insistence on picking a similar comp to the one they ran in this game.
The first right choice for Bang here was to finish his damage items as quickly as possible he needed to have a do or die mentality, he simply had to rely on his positioning so even if they were going to kill him he would take down as many as he could before he went leaving Gnar and Lulu to clean up after if they could.
Or the second choice would've been to attempt to run the Juggarmaw comp so at the very least they had a godly hyper carry to sustain through the team fights that would eventually wear down the Lissandra & Vi.

Good set of games with very meticulous planning from both sides especially in the final game against KT. Not sure why Faker looked sad after the third game I thought he played well.
