I am fucking BEAMING right now. Like I acc teared up friggin excited/happy tears like wtf! I'm still smiling!! I'd been so busy this week I only realised about 2 hours ago that it was the 7th and Haikyuu was coming back. I fucking popped on my bag of popcorn and juice I'd been saving for a weekend of studying for this. After two perfectly flawless seasons, expectations are always high with Haikyuu but its probably the only show I watch where I'm not worried about them delivering.
Highlights for me:
This new opening!! Tbh I cant remember the song right now and will have to watch it again but that animation and imagery was brillaint.
The continuity with the bruise on Daichi's face was a nice touch. It's been months but I already feel like we're back into the groove of things and it never left us.
Everything Nishi and Tanaka
Kageyama and Hinata quick combo that surprises everyone who see's it for the first time will NEVER get old.
Karasuno finally having a cheer leading squad even if it is pathetic in comparison!
Haikyuu's ability to create colourful and distinct opponents as per usual. Only just met them and can remember them and their quirks quickly.
Every time Kageyama cracked a giddy smile!! Theyre finally on the center court and you can just tell nerves or not that he's fucking beaming. I love that they kept drawing his smile sort of shaky to show just have overexcited he is.
*The highfive introduction part. You can show anyone not familiar with Haikyuu that scene and they could tell what type of characters each of them are.
I know this a shorter season but I absolutely ecstatic that they're pouring so much focus into this one match. Makes the stake and everything that much higher. Love that its on Fridays too now. Haikyuu to greet me after an exhausting week. Doesnt get better than this.
