Stop Sexism!

Very well said. Don't let all the potential comments that "disagree" with you tell you otherwise, they are clearly so deep into their bubble and are missing the actual context why these companies would have those practices (that cost them a lot of extra time and money, by the way, in the first place).

I really want those who complain about the practices to think about what the alternatives are. Drop the practices, watch the numbers go down yet again until maybe in 20-30 years where there might be a difference because girls in high school seem to be going more into stem lately? Yeah ok, buddy.

They also are completely oblivious to how women are a lot harsher on themselves when it comes to applying to a job, and how, if they do apply and don't get in, women take rejection a lot worse, making them less likely to want to reapply to that company after.

Until there are as many women as there are men in the field, or at least enough women that it's not so intimidating to those looking to apply and seeing an, *motions in general direction* overwhelming male presence, these measures are there to stay for a bit.

If only these guys spent the time and energy uselessly fighting D&I, I don't know, doing some more leetcode so they don't have to blame a random ass girl for landing the interview instead of them them.

----------------

A note for those who might want to attack this comment: If you're not a minority in tech, don't waste your breath trying to argue with me about these measures. If you are saying things such as what OP says, you do not understand that it is NOT the same experience for job hunting or navigating the field as it is for men, and I don't say this as it's a good thing. I would gladly give up "getting my resume read quicker" if it meant I didn't to go through half the shit I go through as a woman.

PS: don't complain if you're a single guy and can't find a girlfriend when you've such an ignorance stance on the matter. Maybe click on the links I referenced and educate yourself a little.
