A stranger asked my husband and I when we're having children. Still annoys me today.

Imma assume by "fedora" you mean Trilby, one of the hats with a narrow brim turned up at the back made popular by Sinatra and company way back in the day and revived by many a wanna-be hipster and often called a fedora by some, for they of the neckbeard kind have known no better having more than a generation gone hatless before them and their mistake has sadly entered common usage even though they're wrong.

Fedoras have a wide brim and similar crown shape and are often seen in many old movies of the 20s, 30s and 40s. Real Fedoras take class, skill, and the right outfit to pull off, you need to know what you're doing to wear a Fedora, anyone can throw on a Trilby and go "Lol i'm wearing a fedora look how cool I am" and somewhere the ghosts of the Rat Pack will weep with shame.

Also- the older i get the more people start bothering me about "settling down" and "not being lonely". I'm not lonely, I have a cat and the internet and a couple friends i occasionally have to keep from getting themselves arrested en route to LARP and events, I'm good. I don't need anyone else's messes to clean up after, especially small screaming pooping things that can't take care of themselves for at least a decade and will then eventually expect me to pay for college. some people assume that everyone wants that kind of mess as soon as possible in their life for some idiotic antiquated cultural reason i shall never understand, especially if they are married.
