Stuck on any Nightfall? Any strike - how you complete it, here. [GUIDE]

I'm not sure who this guide is really targeted to. The advice seems to apply to people who already have all high-level raid / exotic gear and weapons. That's the subset of players that is least likely to require advice on strike-specific tactics. For anyone else, I imagine this would be hard to follow because without any accompanying media (e.g. videos, images), it assumes you're already familiar with the geography and wave composition of all the strikes.

And while I think most of your advice is solid, there are several things that I think are very misguided. Any time you draw a line in the sand and say something is 'bad' or 'banned', you're assuming your experience has 100% coverage over what is actually viable or even good. Some of my personal disagreements:

  • Exotic Fusion Rifles can be very strong on strikes. Plan C was my go-to weapon against Omnigul this week, as it strips shields in a single shot and still does roughly ~2000 damage per full burst against health. It also has a huge ammo pool. It was sort of sad watching people trying to ping away at her shields with Icebreakers, as some people have decided that weapon is the only exotic worth using for every Nightfall. The real issue is opportunity cost with other exotic weapon slots, where mileage will inevitably vary per people's individual manifests.

  • Discounting the Bladedancer is silly. As much as I like Gunslinger, it just doesn't bring much to the table for Nightfalls. Its super just doesn't synergize well with the format compared to other classes. Sunsinger brings self-resurrections to the table, Voidwalkers and Strikers have crowd control, Defenders have their bubbles, and Bladedancers have their invisibility perks. Personally, I'd rather have a teammate who can go invisible and go in for a ninja revive than some guy who is able to ping off 3-4 Golden Gun shots against a boss.

  • Your weapon damage thresholds are completely arbitrary and not even consistent. A 272 damage weapon of the appropriate burn type does way more damage than a 300 damage weapon without it. First priority for equipping weapons for a Nightfall should always be matching the burn appropriately, then your weapon level (or weapon 'quality'). The 300% burn damage bonus far exceeds anything you can earn from weapon upgrades.
