Some info I'm going to leave her by doing some digging into a couple things.
The presiding Judge, Peter Ross, DOES indeed have a history in sexual abuse cases. The weird thing about them? He rants against the prosecution in these cases

Man, Jed Francis who raped a woman twice outside a court house
Case where he blasted them for not having enough evidence
His father has no information on him. NONE. The only information about him from the hours I've done of digging are the following websites. the company website
A website that lists various different lawyers
Website covering the "Picard" case
Which I would like to state pretty much give absolutely no information about him and besides his name and occupation and accomplishments. In order to even get that you have to edit your google search to include "-Andrew -Picard". However, I think this may have something more to do with Cravath in general as the last link in the previous series has a little info on it.
This may be bigger than just this case
The above link contains a case where a man named as 'Coliton' was involved in a case where a mother pimped off her teenage daughters to him. However, that is not the interesting part in this situation. The interesting part is this tidbit "Colliton, who is 42 and once worked for the prestigious firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, was being held at a police station." Who else that we know is in immediate connection with Cravath..... hmmmmmm......
However I can't go into this rabbit hole further due to it being 4:00AM. Another rabbit hole possibly worth investigation is the link from above that lists different lawyers as there are two names that pop up pretty often on "Picard's" Father's profile. Goodnight for now reddit
