If you are looking for a current director who is similar stylistically to Tarantino I’d recommend Paul Thomas Anderson, however, id maybe also recommend looking at some of Tarantino’s influences as not only will you find some great films but will also gain further appreciation for Tarantino’s body of work. Tarantino is first and foremost a film geek and because of that his films draw a lot from the classics. If you’re looking for some great films to watch with some of his stylistic flourishes id recommend looking to his recommendations and interviews he’s done on film. He also does film reviews on his website New Beverly Cinema. A lot of Tarantino films have source material they’re based on such as Kill Bill being based on Lady Snowblood (though I have yet to personally see Lady Snowblood and desperately need to) Some films referenced by Tarantino that I could think of off the top of my head would be The 400 Blows, 8 1/2, psycho, and The Good The Bad and the Ugly. I can promise you the full list is very, very long and will give you plentiful library of great films to watch.
