Supposedly stable but still "less" than non bipolars in many ways. Anyone else?

I've been at a job that was stressful, on top of that there were issues with air quality at home and there. I started to get more and more fatigued and ill, and had to keep calling in sick or leaving early, or coming in for a half day, either because I was sick or I needed a personal day. It got to the point where I was burning through my vacation because I kept calling in sick. It was a unionized job so it would be hard to get rid of me, but I finally reached a point where each day I was suicidal and didn't know if I would make it to work or kill myself.

I quit. After I quit I moved to another city. My physical health improved greatly, I took up bike riding and found I could easily keep pace with more experienced bikers, even though I hadn't ridden in years and hadnt exercised much. I was not medicated and struggling with mood swings, I was still burnt out and couldn't return to work. Because I couldn't return to work I wound up homeless and in the hospital.

I basically pushed through till I burned out. I haven't been able to work for the past three years.

I'm not saying this will happen, but if your body is telling you you have a limit, i think you should heed the warning and find a way to make acoomodations at work, in life, or take a different job. If you're getting sick I think that's a bad sign.

I accept that I have less energy, and that I have to figure out how to balance expenditure, otherwise I will have a serious setback down the road.
