So, talk to me about half unit pens.

Nothing is as accurate as a pump, but if you really want to go on a pump holiday definitely see about getting a Novopen Echo! https://www.novonordisk.com/patients/diabetes-care/pens--needles-and-injection-support/NovoPenEcho.html

Keep in mind that pens are less accurate for the first 1-2 "clicks" of whatever they measure. A half-unit pen isn't accurate for doses of 1u or less (a full unit pen isn't accurate for doses below 2u). So if you only need tiny amounts of insulin at a time / if you're highly insulin-sensitive, then realistically a pump is still your best bet.

Maybe talk to your doctor/CDE about what it is about the Omnipod that you're getting tired of and whether a different pump might give you the break you're looking for or whether a total pump holiday is the better option.
