Teachers of Reddit, what amusing family secrets did you accidentally learn from your overly talkative students?

Poly household, here. We have 4 kids among us. The ability to have one parent run out on an urgent shopping trip or take kids to lessons, schools, etc is so amazing. Someone is always home. The parents can take naps if needed and the others keep up with the kids. Family time watching movies is awesome with everyone piling up in our family room... cooking is shared... one parent can take point on household items like buying appliances or having household repairs done. (Our dryer went out. Got info from everyone about features and then I placed the order. No stress in those who work the most)

Our household expenses are shared across the board and we have an amazing house in a wonderful school district that neither family could have afforded in their own.

We just started homeschooling the youngest because she’s autistic and virtual school isn’t working for her at all. We split subjects up to the parents who understand them best and we teach her.

So many benefits I don’t know why it’s not more mainstream.
