Teen commits suicide after accidentally shooting and killing friend

Of course it should. Hows that going to be enforced though? I don't think anyone thinks guns shouldn't be kept away from children but far too many people are negligent or ignorant. So unless you want to send authorities to check on every single owner every single day to make sure they're keeping things secure it's not going to change. Lots of people have safes and just leave them unlocked because they're lazy.

The argument that kids getting their hands on guns is unavoidable or accidental is ridiculous.

Who ever said it was unavoidable or accidental? It's most certainly negligence but it also won't change because far too many people in the world are ignorant, lazy, and think "it won't happen to me."
