Teenager 'murdered by ex-boyfriend' after police fined her for wasting their time over her fears about him, court hears

You don't seem to understand.

Being a cop in a town of 6k people, eating doughnuts and writing tickets is not dangerous. It's easy.

Being in a job where there is a fraction of a percent chance that one day I might have to draw my weapon does not make it anything more then a slightly higher risk.

It's like me saying because I have to cross 2 streets to get to my job, and you only have to cross one, makes my commute twice as dangerous as yours.

When you are dealing with fractions of a percent chance, it's almost not even worth noting. Being a cop does not bring any more danger then being Someone who is involved in martial arts tournaments. There is soo much more risk of injury to someone like that, then to a cop.

My final thought.. most cops are bad cops. The cops who are friendly and understanding of the plight of the common man are better cops, but unless they are willing to report on the bad cops wrongdoings, they are bad cops themselves.

I would estimate 1 in 10000 police officers would fall into any category I wouldn't refer to as 'a bad cop'.
