Tesla officially acquires SolarCity

You voted with your wallet for a 40k car , the only problem being : it would have costed 150k without all the corporate welfare tesla received over the years , now the question is : would you still buy it if it sold for 150k ? Why didn't you buy the model S which is roughly halfway there? Again when people are asked to vote with their wallet without any external artificial alteration of the price EVs are always blown off the table by ICE models

We already went over this... It is not profitable to run an electric car company like Tesla without government incentives. That's why there are government incentives. Having companies in this space is valuable to pushing innovation further, and those companies would not be able to exist without the incentives. Eventually, they will be able to, which is why the incentives taper off over time.

Your system of not providing any incentives would NEVER result in a world where a similarly priced EV is a better option than an ICE. Because it would never be worthwhile for a business to invest in what would be a guaranteed loss for decades. Thus, your system is fucking stupid.
