A thank you post from India

I am an Indian student living in Germany. there are significant inaccuracies in OP's post. i just wanted to present counter point of view. I am grateful to German tax payers for providing free higher education to so many international students. in my interaction with Germans here, I have found them to be extremely good at critical thinking[limited sample size] so I expect here also people will analyze OP's post critically without believing everything to be true.

  1. my entire family lives in India, they did just fine with watching Indian news channels. there are 1000s of news channels in India, one can't say that all of them indulged in spreading pseudo scientific treatments and cures including cow dung and cow piss. I regularly talk to my parents then never saw or talked about anything like this on news.[you might say it is only true for you what about others? but if it was a wide spread phenomenon, I would have heard from my Indian friends here as well] BTW, i was in Indian for entire March and until mid April, never needed to follow DW or any English news channel for corona related news.

  2. BJP the current ruling party has won election after election with record voteshare [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019\_Indian\_general\_election ] just think about it. why would so many people vote for them? it is not that simple. Indian politics is tremendously complicated. it is even difficult to understand for people of India. i don't think my parents who vote for BJP are NAZIs. lol

  3. DW has excellent documentaries, but saying that OP relied on DW for corona related Indian news is bit too far. as I said earlier, there are 1000s of Indian language news channels in India. heck, hardly 10% population speak English in India[https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-20500312 ]. do you think 90% population had no authentic news source to rely upon? what a joke.
