Is there a "Muslim problem" in Australia?

There is no war between Muslims and Australia. That much is horseshit. There is a political party that, if their name is to be taken literally, would make decisions and campaign based on their Islamic faith.

The Muslims in parliament now (I can only name two) don't seem to be doing anything about Sharia.

Some Sharia "courts" have existed and I know people live day to day in those 'Sharia' systems in this country. Sharia is a bad word in this country, but not all of it is bad, Sharia banking is pretty cool.

Yes Muslims seem to be over represented in many crime figures but the police here are not afraid to go anywhere. Auburn is probably Australia's worst suburb for violent crime, unfortunately (and unsurprisingly) is it most Muslim in demographic, but there is no way coppers are scared of going there.

There are two extreme sides to this "Muslim problem", there is the side that digs its head in the sand and sings la la la la la everytime someone brings up Islam and Australia. These people refuse to see that there is an integration problem, I have experienced it first hand, but they are comfortable in their eastern bubble. Then there is the other extreme of people who hate not just Islam (which is fine, you can hate an idea) but they hate Muslims. They are paranoid and think Muslims are coming to get them. And like the other side, there is no reasoning with them. Although I have managed to turn one.

I've noticed that both sides don't usually live in Muslim dominated areas in Australia and don't meet and intereact with Muslims on a day to day basis. So their perception of Muslims is formed from the internet, the media or the very few (in the leftist case, often middle class) Muslims they have met.
