There is truth in comedy. Everyone's A Little Bit Racist [Avenue Q]

Christ knows we need a sequel now more than ever.

I'm a Democrat, but after watching the rioters outside of Trump's rally last night, draped in Mexican flags, burning the American flag, assaulting peaceful attendees, and chanting "Make California Mexico Again!", I found myself thinking "Let's send these little assholes to Ciudad Juarez and see how long they last."

And that's why I had to listen to this song. I wouldn't even say my thoughts were necessarily racist, but I was definitely "a little bit racist" in the eight months I lived in San Jose and Silicon Valley.

If you drive around East San Jose, you'd swear you're in Mexico; no one makes true attempts at assimilation.

As for Cupertino, HQ city of Apple, there's a reason it's called Little Beijing. Wealthy Chinese nationals literally fly into SFO, get on a tour bus to view neighborhoods in Cupertino, and then pay 2 to 2.5x the value on a house in order to use it as an investment and get their money out of China. The kicker? The vast majority never live in the houses they buy and, if they have kids, they use the property as leverage to get their children admitted do a UC system university as an international student. This only exacerbates the housing crisis in The Bay Area and this proves that it is partly artificially created. Nearly all Cupertino businesses are Chinese first and English second with respect to language.

But hey, fuck me because I think you should assimilate to our culture if your home nation was so bad and fuck me for thinking that foreigners should not be allowed to buy a house as investment vehicle, never live in it, and then use it years later to game the college admission process to get their non-U.S. citizen children into one of the world's best public university systems.
