I was on a break during work and had walked into town, got a sandwich and drink and had my lunch while walking back. Just as I'm getting back to the place I work, I'm stopped by two stunning girls one blonde, one brunette, with huge, amazing, absolutely incredible (I'm talking out-of-this-world) smiles. They're holding leaflets and I know, even before they speak, that they're going to try to sell me on something. There's a lot of charity people looking for sign ups in my town, so I figured it was something like that.

"Hey, would you mind talking to us for just a sec?" asks the brunette.

*Bats eyelashes, big smile*

Sigh I'm a sucker for pretty girls, what can I say? "Ok, sure."

(Blonde) "I'm Sam and this is Jess. We were just wondering if you like meeting new people?"

"Hey. Yeah, I mean, sometimes. It depends. Honestly, I'm not the most sociable person in the world...Erm, where's this heading?"

(Jess *pouting, feigning hurt, seductively*) "Aww, you should really be more open to making new friends. There's a lot of really nice people if you just look in the right places"

"Okaaay?..."

(Sam) "We'd really like to introduce you to a friend of ours...his name's Jesus"! *Gorgeous, slightly crazy, smile*

Sighhhhh....

*With great reluctance* "Look, before you say anything else, I should tell you that I'm an atheist and you're not going to change my mind about it, I'm sorry. I don't want you to waste your time..."

(Jess *fluttering her eyelashes*) "Awww, I'm sorry to hear that. Are you sure there's nothing we can say?"

At this point I remember thinking "Jesus Christ this isn't fair", so I guess it almost worked...

"I'm sorry, no."

(Jess) "Oh well, can I give you this leaflet? It's about our meet ups and you can come along to any of them any time" *Huge smile*

"Yeah, sure. It was nice to meet you".

(Both, almost in unison) "Thanks, bye now. We hope to see you there"

They never did see me at one of their meetings, but goddamn if I wasn't tempted to show up at one of them. I've never wanted to be religious so much in my life. Not only were they gorgeous, they seemed really, unbelievably, nice. I think I probably dodged a bullet though I hope...
