TIL that the "Pillars of Creation" within the Eagle Nebula are about 4-5 Light years tall

That's only because each Hubble picture effectively costs thousands (if not more) dollars to have taken... not to mention that nearly each photo contains a wealth of information.

Meanwhile... each photo I take with my cell phone costs fractions of fractions of pennies... and contains nearly zero scientific benefit!

So... it's only normal that engineers and their equipment time will be spent on the Hubble photos (rather than my cell photos)... in order to bring out and enhance every detail of every object we observe in the Universe... as much as possible.

Thus, no I'm not being disingenuous, only realistic.

As you said yourself, the processing attention paid to Hubble photos are millions of millions of time more than spent on my photos... and rightly so!

As for me being defensive, apologies if I came off that way! But rather... from my perspective, I'm just trying argue about the information contained in those Hubble photos, and the cost and energy that went into obtaining them.
