Titanfall 2 will not have a season pass, all post-launch maps and content will be free

Agreed, $60 isn't much to some people, myself included, but it's definitely significant (especially to a younger audience) and it's less about a single purchase vs a consumer mentality. (Especially considering the plethora of titles and the frequency of purchases)

Tbh, the game looks good and I'll probably end up buying it, if it survives reviews in 3 months.

Regardless, I just think it's silly to advocate so heavily for a consumer product, especially when:

1) it's not even out yet

2) it's predecessor had more praise than this one and was a massive disappointment.

will people still be playing it in 6 months? Exactly how long is the single player? Can you break down the metacritic rankings with graphs and detailed statistics? I need sum spreadsheets to make an informed decision..

You say this sarcastically, but unless you have no concept of money, the points you bring up should absolutely be relevant. If a (mp centric) game isn't populated after 6 months, then it's clearly not worth a sixty dollar purchase. That not even debatable.

We live in an age where there are a lot of good video games, but marketing obscures what is worth purchasing. Maybe you have the means to buy whatever shiny object catches your eye, but the rest of us peasants have to decide when to save up our grocery money.
