Happy birthday! Just remember that it could be worse...

I was really looking forward to my 20th. It just so happened to fall on the same day as a big music festival. My gf bought us tickets and all my friends and roommates were going too. My lease was up the same day though so we had to spend the day before packing and moving.

It would be a week before the lease started at our new place, so my parents agreed to let us stay there. The plan was that I would borrow my dad's truck, drop the stuff off at their place, he would bring me back to my apartment, my roommates and I would sort of camp out there, they would ride to the festival together, and my gf would pick me up with the tickets and she would drive me there.

My roommates left knowing that I had a ride and ticket coming. Gf never showed up or answered her phone. This was pre cell phone days so I spent my 20th in a completely empty apartment alone while all my friends were having the time of their lives wondering when I'd arrive...
