Top mind mod of r/TraditionalCatholics: “All gays should be put to death”. Then proceeds to whine about people being intolerant of his opinion, and complains about “rude DMs”.

I agree for the most part, but I try to reserve judgment until the person reveals their morals.

The thing is, people tend to make religion what they want. Of course, growing up in a religious community will shape your morals (as does culture), but people usually make religion fit their existing beliefs; they use it to justify their opinions. Most people in the modern world will ignore or reinterpret the passages of their religious texts that they can't accept, and that's fine by me.

If you use your religion as an inspiration to do good things, fine. If you use it as a community of support, good. If it enables you to cope with your mortality, great. If you use it to justify deplorable beliefs, then get the fuck out of here with that shit you deluded fuck.
