Considering we close at 10, it was on a weekday, before food order, which are known to be dead, I don't think it was too much trouble for her to do her job. Plus said person who closed was already scheduled to work, all they had to do was stay an hour and a half.
She left the lights on, AC on, didn't mop the floors, left the pepperoni and mushrooms (which we had to throw out) in the bottom of the makeline which wasn't cleaned at all as well as a bunch of sauces out. Along with a few other small things. To top it off her paperwork was bad, which means I have to re-do the count from last night and clean before I can get to the food order that I have to put away in FIFO, enter into the PC and then do morning prep on top of making sure I handle customers and make pizza and depending who my opening driver is, if they're new also make sure they know their half of opening duties.
So yeah I criticized the way she closed because like I said in my post, shes done it for me as well. Did I leave a passive aggressive note back? No. I asked her if there was anything else I didn't do and make sure to do it the next time I close. I also didn't mention shes called in sick last minute a few times, and I've had to do the same and stay until close, or if I open stay until 8 when I did open at 10am.
Whoever closes is the shift leader and a couple of us are basically managers. I've asked nicely about it, I've asked them to do closes better, but its always excuses. I understand that they just want to go hang out with friends after work but a job is a job. Theres a reason there are people scheduled for 'late night' (they're there until 8:30-9 when we close at 10) they're supposed to help clean / take care of customers while closing person takes care of their late night count.
Plus we get paid until we clock out, its not like the clock stops at a certain time so if you have to stay an extra 15 minutes to make sure the floor is mopped or you wiped down the pizza sauce on the wall or the melted cheese in the make line, you're getting paid for it.
