Trump issues executive order freezing hiring for federal workforce

My superior is retiring soon, and I basically had her higher GS-level position in the bag. I've basically been doing her job as it is, as she has been on the brink of retirement and all duties were passed off to me.

But I also don't really like the city I currently live in, so I also have a couple applications for elsewhere too. Was hoping to find a higher position overseas, or at least use the promotion I was getting in my current city as leverage to go somewhere else.

Well I guess all of that is in the shitter now, and I'm stuck in this city and position. Not to mention I just finished an academic program that was paid for by the DoD (not compaining about that, that was awesome). But part of the deal is that I need to stay in the DoD for 3x the amount of my education, which comes out to another 3 years still. So everyone is saying high-paying contractor jobs will be on the rise? Well I can't even think about any of that unless I want to pay off my grad school tuition myself.

This blows.
