Trump Just Blurted Out, Unprompted, That He Installed His Pet Attorney General Over the Russia Probe

That's the one factor I'm really hoping for out of this presidency. I voted for Clinton on election day--didn't particularly like her as a candidate, but voted for her nonetheless because the other practical option (Trump) is someone who I wouldn't ever vote for.

Still, I can't help but think of how a Clinton presidency would be looking right now. Yeah, we'd have at least one Clinton SCOTUS nominee, but he or she would probably be perpetually stuck in Mitch McConnell's Senate limbo.

Our country's right wing would probably be more riled up than they've ever been, and more eager to vote against Clinton at every stage. Worst by far is the prospect of someone more competent and better composed than Trump winning the presidency in 2020 with a lot of anti-Clinton energy driving voters.

I really hope the record and actions of this current Administration and GOP-controlled Congress turn into a sort of antidote against this absurd state of affairs in the future and that it will help us return to a state of normalcy with an agreement on the issues and a willingness to compromise to solve serious problems like climate change.
