Trying to quit

Not to be a broken record but reading the symptoms you were having and the timeline, it will only get worse before it gets better. I’ve tried thinking I could do it by myself but once those hallucinations start, you should have already been in the hospital. If you end up going to the ER tell them you are going through alcohol withdrawal, they’ll give you Ativan to ease your physical withdrawals. They’ll also probably say they can fix you up and send you home or ask if you want to quit drinking. Going home with still a few days of withdrawal to go is not the smartest idea. It’s your choice, but if you have the means, I would tell them you want to quit, they might be able to detox you there safely or they can send you in the right direction. But either is significantly better than trying to do it without medical aid. All of this specifically applies to my experiences and going cold turkey, wean off if you can (I couldn’t) and everyone has different experiences.
