Two month long undercover drug operation, in which officer worked at Burger King, netted 5 grams of Marijuana, 2 Pills

To vice cops this is huge. These guys are pretty much soulless pricks. We had one infiltrate our group of friends and hang with is for about 6 months. We never really did anything at all. A little pot and some drinking but that's it. The friend who brought him in had 1 ounce of weed busted into 4 bags and he ended up getting busted for distribution because this dick saw him hand the bags to us. For free. He lied on the stand and said we bought them and that was that. They tried to get my friend to be a narc, he said no, one year in jail.

In the end he got a year in jail, 3 felonies, distribution, felony possession of materials and maintaining a dwelling. The maintaining a dwelling was the worst. He was living at his parents beach house for the summer and the cops said it was a drug house so the state confiscated it. From the kids parents.

We all testified that he didn't sell anything, he was a good kid. 4 of us. Numerous character witnesses. He was a good kid. It didn't matter at all. The vice detective took the stand and lied. Straight up lied. Said it was a drug den and that we were all lying. The kid never had a Chance.

The judges actually laughed at one point and the jury chuckled along with him. 1 ounce of pot.

1 ounce of pot cost this kid a year of freedom, his parents a very nice beach house, several thousand dollars in fines, a felony conviction and a life of shit.

I still keep in peripheral contact with him. He's never recovered. A once smart, fun and confident guy is now struggling for part time work and has no confidence. He's a felon because of bullshit and it ruined his life.
