If they had performed at the same level or even close to other countries, I’d agree wholeheartedly, but our administration was laughably bad at handling this issue. The first cases happened in early February, and somehow we didn’t have even minor testing capacity until a month and a half later. For some on the ground perspective, anecdotes from friends who work in hospitals say as late as Friday, basic state wide logistic iCal issues were unsolved, like sourcing masks and gloves, as well as proper protocol for testing and storing tests, and apparently there was no support from the government. This thing was literally coming our way at a snails pace for two months and we did virtually nothing.
