UN says encryption “necessary for the exercise of the right to freedom”

"I'm sorry but you don't seen to know all that much about the UN if you think that all they do is send letters. It is a collossal organization that has many divisions some of which do hard-work on the ground of third world countries."

Hmmm, i don't recall saying that all the UN does is send letters,

o wait, that's because i didn't.

I am fully aware of what the UN does things outside of setting rights and whatnot, but i did not bring it up as its not relevant in this situation,

As well as that you seem to defend the UN with the excuse "but they help people in 3rd world countries and stuff". The League of Nations also helped people, and it is still regarded ad useless, and im not saying that the UN helping 3rd world countries is bad, i am glad they do, but it does not excuse their absolute incompetence and uselessness when it comes to matters like this.

"Many things are inefficient with the orgnization. It is an elephant that's getting more and more bureaucracy which is problematic. Another problem is that many top positions are just being shifted around so many times you have a wrong leader in the particular division as that person doesn't know all too much about its sector. I know someone who worked very hard in the UN and couldn't stand it as you had to overwork to get anything done. Bureaucrazy just killed it."

alright, you have addressed the problem, that does not excuse the UN`s incompetence, i dont quite see the point you are trying to make, i already know this.

"As for the issue you mention, it is how it is because the UN doesn't have any real authority. It's not their fault and it's debatable if they should have. Similar to how many E.U. countries hate how the E.U. laws are above the national federal ones."

I agree that the UN should not be the be all end all say of the world, but what i want the UN to do is something substantial, take a stand for what you believe in, the countries in the UN that organised this report should rally other nations to their side and actually make a physical effort to combat the erosion of privacy, instead of making reports and saying "people need privacy", hell, if the UN is so bureaucratic, go and do things outside of the UN.
