Thank you! This is is from a closed and NDA'd event. We haven't seen any promotional footage, let alone in-game footage yet. There's no chance these are anywhere close to final.

The game is in alpha. A large part of what defines an alpha is that gameplay is being refined and art assets are not finalized. There's a reason the event was so closed, and that's because they're looking for gameplay feedback without having to worry about discussions like this where the unfinished art effects PR.

The concerns about the art direction are probably valid though. I see three distinct maps there as well as several unique player models. That means they've put some effort into roughing out the art direction to see how it meshes together.

I wouldn't expect the overall design to change, but the models are almost undoubtedly going to be refined.
