Victimhood vs Learned Helplessness

Privilege is when you have options. When you have somebody to help you, to support you, and catch you when you fall. You have the option of failure because you can go stay with relatives, you have somebody who can help financially. You won’t be on the streets and starving if you aren’t able to work to buy all the things you need, of course excluding people who receive assistance from the government. They’re not privileged because they’d be starving and homeless if not for help, and I’m not condemning them at all. People who get govt assistance the among the least privileged, obviously, because the govt is so stingy with helping people in need.

If you have people who help you, you’re more privileged than me. Because I’d I fall, there’s nobody to catch me.
