The Video Game Industry Is Lobbying Against Your Right to Repair Consoles

It resonates about as good as a teen spouting every meme they've seen on the internet in a cringe-inducing manner.

Regardless, it's a popular one. I don't like it either, but I don't really mind it being propogated. I'd much rather have a bunch of people circle jerking about owning a PC rather than dismissing it because of some equally obnoxious console meme. I guess its your right to tell people to stop propogating it. It's their right to disregard your request, after all.

I don't see myself as part of some glorious Spartan army. I'm probably no more different than a car enthusiast who tunes up or rebuilds their vehicles.

This is true. I'm also a big supporter of Linux and Linux gaming and there isn't really the same level of 'meme' as general PC gaming, except for the borrowed memes (/r/linuxmasterrace etc). While it's definitely a relief not to have to have whooping morons as the people furthering your cause, I also feel sad that people don't get excited about Linux in the same way they get excited about PC gaming, even though Linux extends and enhances a lot of the freedoms that PC gamers value.

Absolutely both.

Yep, you're not wrong.
