Walked out of a job fair in Tokyo in tears.

Are you a native English speaker? If so look for a temp job teaching English, then continue seek job while doing so.

And if you can speak Japanese fluently,Japanese people expect you to act like Japanese.MyJapanese friends all doing the job hunting right now, well,it wasn't easy. They have exams after exams, group discussion, spent a lot of money going back and forth between Tokyo and Osaka. They make resume like they life depends on it.Because it does.Out of thousands of applicants,one-sloppy written resume mean getting the job or not.

And you don't demand employee to change the time of your employment.Despite all the globalization's going on,Japan working system is all the same.Shitty senior-junior relations, the need to keep company with your boss drinking while ignoring family at home...etc.

I don't know why you even thinking about working here.To be a salaryman? That's mean you need to time your schedule beforehand, know the way to deal with company, how to communicate with them, discuss with immigration to accomodate your situation...Most foreigner working here that I met aren't salaryman.Either teaching English, work in bussiness, marketing where they conduct bussiness between Japan and the world.

So,what are you crying for?If you spent like 100,000 yen every months for transportation back and forth Osaka and Tokyo, learning TOEIC every single day, forcing yourself to stay late at night thinking about resume and group discussion,go ahead, cry. But from your story I cringed.Hard.

Sloppy resume?Demand to change time of employment? There are proverb in Japan that say, nail that stood out the most will be the first to be plucked away.Thousands of future employees that will accept the offer just as it is,and there were you, demanding. No way in hell they will employ you.You are lacking in preparations. My friend that come from same country as mine, got the job despite her shitty Japanese.Hers is like entry level Japanese, but she work like real Japanese, well I thing that count the most.

Fluent-Japanese speaking foreigner? So what, thousands of American and France anime maniacs can do the same and keep coming every year. It's not that rare anymore!

Let be real then. You got to offer what talent you have that differ you from other, that's makes the company want you. That's really important for you to check about the company profile, know their economic profiles, data, because Japanese really love their statistic. You think sloppy resume is enough and you got reason to cry for half-ass job?Holy shit no.

Stop crying, plan.Think about the next step.Ask help from your university, college or whatever on advice for job-hunting.If this year is a flop, then thats that.Try again next year, even its mean you going back to your country.Stepback will not always be bad,it just give time to think, and come back stronger.
