I walked out. I wish I could tell my team I’m sorry, but my manager was abusive, gaslighting me and harassing me, and today told me I need to lose weight. I worked at a target licensed store :(

I walked out too like a year ago, and I've never been happier.

Working at Sbux for 4.5 years, I realized that the company just kept rolling out new expectations literally like every month, while the pay stayed the same (my pay went up only by 50 cents since I started).

The drama that goes on at a part-time coffee shop job like Starbucks is just so unnecessary and draining (I've worked at three different stores in different districts, they're all the same), and the drama is usually from the management team. They literally take the job so seriously and it gets exhausting. All the baristas I've worked with were all super chill.

I found a new minimum wage, part time job. No more supervisors/managers screaming at me. No more "how's the weather" BS. I receive way better hours at my current job than I ever did at Starbucks. No more scrubbing down washrooms and floor mats. The company really overworks everyone but tells them it's the greatest company that offers benefits (minimum 20/hours a week, but my manager scheduled everyone 18-19 hours or less a week, woops!).

I miss Starbucks, especially the clientele (I really really miss my regulars), and I miss all the baristas I worked with and being able to phantom everywhere and meeting different people. But the management just sucks. My mental health has been a lot better ever since I left the company.

Good for you for walking out. Don't feel bad. It's just a minimum wage, part time job. You'll find something so much better.
