We've had a rough start, but I think it's looking up?

You are so dedicated to hang in there through all of this! I really applaud your efforts.

I also had great plans about breastfeeding that got thrown for a loop. We had to begin supplementing early on and I struggled with production issues.

I'm a 34J now that I'm nursing and was a 32G before. Isn't it super frustrating when you've been carrying around these mammoth boobs your whole life and then your production is low?? It made me feel like what the hell good are these stupid giant tits when they don't do the one thing they were MEANT to do?!?! Get it together, boobs, and feed my baby!!

I use and have used Fenugreek Seed by Gaia from amazon, ate oatmeal, drank Gatorade/coconut water. I prefer coconut water but I understand it's the electrolytes that matter. Some folks swear by mothers milk but instructions say to not drink 15 min before or after taking it which I found really inconvenient and decreased my overall water consumption significantly. Also, I drink 2-3 liters of water a day. I still drink coconut water 2x/day and notice it makes a difference within 5-10 minutes of drinking it. I will be dry and if I drink it I will have enough milk for LO to find worthwhile ten minutes later.

As for pumping, I pumped on both sides at the same time for 15-20 minutes every 3 hours around the clock. In the middle of the night hubby would supplement while I pumped. I also found it helpful to look at my LO while I pumped - I did notice better production when I was (makes sense from a hormonal perspective w oxytocin). I only lasted about 2 weeks with middle of the night pumping to be honest.

I hope some of this helps you. You are fighting the good fight and I know it's not easy. Hang in there momma!
