What are the best and worst things about being in a LDR?l that many wouldn't understand?

Being in a long distance relationship has taught me a lot about myself and life in general. It has taught me how to be patient. It has taught me how to be independent. It has taught me how to multitask my daily life just to keep updated with everyone else’s. It has taught me to not get my hopes up too high. It taught me to not hold my breath. As douche as it sounds, it has also taught me to never stop trying. One of the most common ‘reassuring’ things people have said to me personally is “at least you have your friends and family”. They aren’t here either. I suppose I have been in a long distance relationship with them too. I had to learn very fast how to handle myself on my own. It is easy to get caught up in the negatives especially when you see people that have physical support from their friends and family. When you see people that get to spend time with their families on special occasions. You see people being able to set up their lives when you are stuck in a limbo. I have learnt how to be appreciative of little things like just being able to hear the voice of someone I love.
