I took machine code as an elective because I had a mild interest in removing CD checks and editing executables at the time. Big mistake.

The lecturer used to talk about how assembly was the best because you can save 1/1000th of a second every iteration... but that was never relevant for me, all I used it for was editing my client exe in JediKnight:DarkForces2.

When you got kicked from a server in that game the actual kicking mechanism was client side. I went into the exe, found the section where you get kicked and just removed that section of code. Whenever the host kicked me out of the game it would display the "Winterplatypus has been kicked from the game" message, the host would do their usual taunting "see you later asshole", then nothing would happen.
