What is the closest you've come to unintentionally killing yourself that didn't involve drugs or alcohol?

As a teenager who learned to drive right as cell phones were becoming more popular, I almost killed myself texting while driving. As a disclaimer, I no longer text while drive (largely because of this story).

I was basically just driving to home from school when my ex-girlfriend, who I was very interested in rekindling things with, texted me. I obviously needed to consider exactly how to respond, so I spent a decent amount of time looking at my phone.

While staring at my phone, the two-lane road that I was driving on took a sharp bend that I noticed almost-too-late, and had to jerk hard on the wheel to correct for.

This bend was at the base of a large, rocky hill that would've absolutely totaled my car if I had kept going straight, so I had yanked on the wheel as far as it would go in the opposite direction.

My car pulls just about a perfect 180-degree turn into the opposite lane, screeching and burning rubber and I had to quickly revert back to driving straight so that I didn't hit the traffic that was previously behind me.

Fortunately, there was nobody coming down the hill or else I would've absolutely wrecked both of our cars. Also fortunate was that I was in a new (small) car instead of the Explorer I had learned to drive in, or else I would've rolled it for sure.
