What do you think you cook or bake the best?

I'm very good at looking in the fridge, looking in the cupboards, and pulling a meal out of them. I've got these, I've got that, I can do this with them, it'll be great. (And it usually is.)

Which is to say, I'm pretty bad at baking, because that whole school of cooking ("Can I combine this, that and these to make something sort of like that? Let's find out!") kind of falls apart.

So I do three types of cookies, and I do them extremely well:

  1. Earl Grey shortbread. (And if I really like you, I'll candy some grapefruit peel and mix in little slivers of that.)
  2. Cardamom nibs. (Because I'm too lazy to do crescents, especially when they come out blobby anyhow.)
  3. Chocolate brownies with chocolate ganache. Supremely decadent, I only make it for parties, and I've never had leftovers.
