I was studying abroad in this semi-small university town in Europe. I had a flight early morning and I had to take an early morning bus to take another bus to get to the airport. The metro was not open yet; it was that early. I had my ticket, as well as my friends' tickets.

I was waiting by the curb for an hour for the 1st bus. It did not arrive. I was already running late and the 2nd bus was going to leave me, along with my friends' tickets; so I hitchhiked alone at like 3-4am in the morning. I flagged a car, there was an old Middle Eastern couple inside with their car stuffed with produce. I asked if they could drop me off at the city center bus stop because I had to make a flight. They saw how desperate I was and agreed to drop me off. I made the 2nd bus and met up with my friends. It still is the best and tensest memory I have of the time I studied abroad.

TL;DR: I (woman, 20 something years old during the time) hitchhiked alone in a European city at 3-4AM because I need to make it to an early morning flight.
