There is a song in a movie called Bye Bye Birdie which goes

'We hate you Conrad, oh yes we do' x2

'Oh Conrad we hate you.'

In primary school the popular girls including my crush were running around at recess singing that song to everyone they didn't like (changing the name of course). I was on that list. I was 8, my parents had just split and I was a little too ethnic for my school. It felt like the confirmation of all my fears. I just turned and faced the wall until they were done, my friends were stunned. I just pretended nothing happened, but it happened. Luckily, a few years ago a nice young woman made the first move, we were together for about a year but it didn't work out
