What is the dumbest thing you got punished for in school?

The year I graduated high school was also the first time I ever got suspended. My brother was being horribly bullied by 3 guys, two of which were double his size and weight. Even after numerous complaints made by my parents due to my brother coming home with various bruises and marks on his body, the school refused to do anything because "they had to see it first hand." My brother cried bullshit because a few teachers saw the bullying and did nothing. So me being the older sibling and raging mad, my dad simply turned to me and said "Do what you have to do to protect your brother. Since the school is fucking useless, I'll support whatever measures you must take in order to stop your brother from getting bullied and beaten up."

So for the next few weeks, me and my best friend walked my brother to every single class, sat with him at lunch (even if he was with friends), and made sure he was never alone in order to stop the bullying. However, we were just tiny little teen girls, so the bullies didn't think much.

Oh hell were they wrong. My best friend ended up beating the ever living shit out of one of the bullies after he slammed my brother into a locker and pushed him to the ground while she was walking him to class. I on the other hand, decided to go to the bully ring leader. I am not a big person, only 5'2, and the ring leader was 6' and at least double my weight, but I had fearlessness and pissed off older sister fueling me. I cornered him in the stairwell after I heard him hurling insults and threats at my brother. I pushed him up against the wall, grabbed his shirt and pulled him down so he was eye level with me, then said the following "I know where you live. If you so much as utter a word to my brother again, I will break your fucking legs and put you into the hospital. If you so much as touch my brother again, I'll fucking end you."

Of course, I knew I would get in trouble for this. I didn't care. When they called me to the principals office, there was a cop waiting for me to lecture me on how bad threats are. When I told her my side of the story, including the numerous complaints my parents lodged with school, and how my brother has been dealing with this since the start of the school year and no one interfered, she said she understood where I was coming from and why I was so angry (but it still wasn't nice to threaten people).

I ended up with a 3 day suspension, outside of school. My dad gave me a high five and called me a bad ass. I came back the next week (my suspension was wed-fri), I was notified the three bullies who had been tormenting my brother were dealt with. The ring leader was expelled, while the other two bullies were suspended. The kid who my best friend beat up ended up switching schools due to having a bruised ego over getting his ass kicked by a girl.

Why is it the dumbest thing I ever got punished for? Well, it should never have been my job (or my best friend's) to interfere with bullies. A 17 year old girl should not have had to threaten a bunch of idiots because the school didn't want to deal with it. It was also dumb because it literally took a girl, who never failed anything and had a spotless record, to get the school to take action.
