What do you think of the FBI raid on Trump?

There is a very high bar for such a warrant to be issued against such a person.

It wouldn't be asked for lightly.

It wouldn't be granted lightly.

Previous information has already straight up proven beyond any possible skepticism that top secret documents were mishandled, illegally transported there, illegally stored there, not returned upon request, and not kept secure.

Previous information has already proven beyond all skepticism that the property was the target of foreign surveillance with at least one attempt to infiltrate.

It is well within the bounds of reasonable speculation that there is further evidence of mishandled government secrets at that property. And given that the courts agreed that the evidence currently in hand amounted to probably cause for the search, it would be criminal NOT to investigate further.

Since previous information has already proven beyond all skepticism that Trump intentionally destroyed records which should have been preserved by archivists, it is well within reason to execute the search without giving him the opportunity to do so in this case.

The timing conforms with the DOJs long standing policy to keep things as apolitical as possible by conducting high profile raids of this nature at least 90 days away from election days.

As republicans are often fond of saying when poor people are raided without legal processes being followed: if he did nothing wrong, he has nothing to hide.

But we and they all know that he did and he does.
