Thank you for your comments guys. Since relationship cheating is emotionally devastating I have not told my story to very many.

It’s nice to hear from others who stayed in their relationships and are doing well. It’s nice that people at the beginning of their relationship “recovery” can know that it is possible to go through infidelity and wind up ok in the end.

To echo other commenters, a key predictor of whether the relationship will survive is if the cheater tells his or her significant other without prompting. If the cheater only comes clean when confronted or lies about it, that relationship is unlikely to last.
