What if Wales had voted Remain?

I just wanted to revisit your comment here. I rechecked the numbers and it was 854,572 votes to leave in Wales. So doing the math, if all of those voted remain, Wales’ remain vote would be a total of 1,626,919. Add this to the remain votes as they are to England, NI and Scotland, you get a remain vote of 16,995,813, which would then give Leave a balance of 16,556,170.

So, in essence, if ALL of wales voted Remain, we would have remained in the EU. The exact number wales needed to swing it would have been 1,407,098 votes for Remain and 219,821 votes to leave. I hope I’m not confidently incorrect, just using data from Wikipedia.

It’s a moot point anyway because shit happened and we left…
