It’s mainly for the reason that sometimes only blood is the only truth that keeps you in check. Why get betrayed by people who are stranger than by your family whom you grew up with. I find it easier to enjoy being around family knowing how shitty they raised me. Parents will never remember the biggest mistakes they did to you, but to your advantage you are the biggest fuck you to your family in a way as well. Family is great, do what works for you, keep in mind that many people in the world are suffering family problems so you are definitely not alone in this. Grow to be the respect that they could never be, you are always better then them because you are you and they are never going to be you. Your Mom and Dad brought you into existence so it is only fair that you walk them through theirs.
