What makes a good aoe2 player?

A 15 minute video will not be able to explain how to get good at AOE II. Watching a 15 minute video will not make you better. This video is pathetic to say the least. No backing credibility and the shown play is incredibly bad. At least you could have taken a recording from a 2k4 and try to explain exerpts from that, at least that is worth a smidget. This video does not differ from the reams and reams of (in my opinion shit) videos on how to become better at AOE II.

using your own play to explain how the game should be played is totally fine if the play is actually decent from an objective standard. You are playing a goddamn AI. A worthless AI I don't care which one it is or what version, AI's suck. They are unrealistic you can't learn from them because you get used to their predictability. Human play is not predictable, it's different. AI's don't calculate threats, take risks, wall in a certain way, micro units, have build orders, steal boars, lure deers, strategies etc.

This video is shallow. It's him jerking off about how he can beat the barbarian AI who has the Turks civ (arguably one of the worst civs in flank wars) against a Mongols player on Yucatan (and then not even steal boar or lure deer with the scout jesus christ.)

Ultimately it gives wrong impressions, wrong information and wrong ideas and it's really just fucking shit god I actually feel bad for anyone who thinks this would be useful.

Wanting to become good at something is it's own force of nature. The best way to improve at something is first learn the basics and then go in depth. This videos is about the basic of basic and it still explains it horrible. Just absolutely horrible. And it feels great to shit all over it might I add.
